Bill's June 2023 Trip to New Orleans


This trip was the result of biting on a time share promotion - free stay plus some cash for listening to a 2-hour time-share pitch. I hadn't been to New Orleans since 1972 - of course I bit, trusting to my sales resisatance.
Naturally, I drove, and included some extra stops en route. Yes, some of these were CW battlefields, and some were personal.

Yes, I still try to channel Sandra and notice the types of things she always incorporated in her "tid-bits," take pictures for the next contest, and see new places.

      Chantilly, LA (for about 5 minutes before it closed for the day at 1600)
      Tupelo, MS
      Iuka, MS
      Corinth, MS
      Davis Bridge (aka Hatchie Bridge), TN
      Shiloh,TN

      Other stops include:
      Texarkana, AR
      Lake Charles, LA
      Gueydan, LA
      Longfellow-Evangeline SHS, St. Martinsville, LA
      Dyersburg, TN

      New Orleans places visited/adventures include:
      Jackson Square
      The Cabildo
      World War II Museum
      Confederate Museum
      A couple of trolley car rides
      A lot of good food!
